What is Axie Governance?
Axie Governance represents the decentralized decision-making system for Axie Infinity, enabling the community to actively participate in shaping the future of their digital nation. Built around the core principle that AXS functions as a governance token, this system empowers players and stakeholders to vote on critical proposals that affect the ecosystem's direction and treasury usage.
Axie Score
Your Axie Score measures your ecosystem contributions through badges earned from gameplay achievements, community participation, treasury involvement, and Axie NFT holdings.
The scoring system assigns different point values to each badge depending on its difficulty and community impact, with some easily obtained badges worth zero points.
Collectible assets like Axies and land plots provide scaling rewards—owning 2 Mystic Axies generates double the Axie Score of a single Mystic, incentivizing greater collection and investment in the ecosystem.
Voting Power
Voting Power is your level of influence in Axie Infinity governance decisions, calculated by combining your staked AXS tokens and Axie Score.
The more AXS you stake and the higher your community contributions (reflected in your Axie Score), the greater your voting power becomes, ensuring that both token holders and active ecosystem participants have meaningful voices in shaping Axie Infinity's future.
For each proposal, there will be a snapshot, capture the voting power of each individual at that moment before the vote.
Proposal Status
The status of the proposal shows when there’s a pending snapshot for the calculation of voting power, when users can vote on proposals, as well as the results of the proposal.
Proposal Result
Proposal outcomes are determined by vote tallies and quorum requirements.
For a proposal to be valid, it must meet the minimum quorum (required number of staked AXS votes) regardless of the for/against ratio.
If quorum is met, passing proposals move to implementation by the development team, while failed proposals may be revised and resubmitted or archived based on community feedback.
Successful Metric
Axie Governance achieved several significant milestones that established a strong foundation for decentralized community decision-making.
The successful launch of the first governance vote demonstrated that the Axie community could effectively participate in democratic processes, with meaningful engagement from both AXS holders and active ecosystem participants.

The current Axie Score calculation heavily favors asset ownership, requiring better balance through weighted scoring across all contribution pillars.
The badge system needs expansion to recognize diverse ecosystem participants, including fee contributors and Discord community members.
Additionally, the current requirement for wallet connection during voting poses security risks, particularly for high-value holders, making voting power delegation a valuable consideration for future iterations.
